Silvia’s game
Silvia comes to terms with the price of her freedom: the unfiltered story of a successful escort, amidst stereotypes and never-resolved prejudices of Italian society.
Silvia, aka Jessica, has and loves to have a comfortable life: being a sex worker is a job that allows her to earn a lot and despite the stigma towards her profession, over time she has built a familial environment around herself and a solid friendship, where you can realize your desire for success and economic well-being. A client’s proposal, which is difficult to refuse, will push Silvia to reconsider the value of her own freedom, in a game of mirrors in which stereotypes and prejudices end up being reflected in her own image.
Articolture welcomed with curiosity and a critical sense the proposal of the young but established journalists Valerio Lo Muzio and Emiliano Trovati to create a bio-pic on Silvia Tartari, a well-known successful Bolognese escort. The need to find a non-obvious interpretation of the theme of prostitution and the free choice of a woman who decides to practice this profession led the production to involve an author like Giorgia Malatrasi in writing – creative producer of Vice and co-author of a disturbing bio-pic like “Searching Eva” by Pia Hellenthal (Berlinale 2019) – and collaborate with an expert like Giulia Zollino, anthropologist and sex educator.
