Pietro and Ivan, nineteen-year-olds in conflict with their families, school and the world, decide to accomplish a theft in the desolate provincial reality in which they live, while the area is threatened by the fall of a large asteroid.

Asteroids are made of the same materials as planets, but they gravitate around them and are lost along unpredictable trajectories, risking violent collisions. Germano Maccioni‘s first feature film is born from this metaphor: the story of two boys not even in their twenties in search of their own living space, in the present time of the economic crisis and in the expanded fields of the Emilian Plain. The film, which obtained the contribution to the development and production of theMIBACT and of the Film Commission Emilia-Romagna, experienced an unprecedented development, involving more than one hundred high school students from the Metropolitan City of Bologna in an acting and writing workshop for cinema, to be in which the protagonists and various special figures were identified. Produced with Ocean Productions and RAI Cinema, in collaboration with Istituto Luce-Cinecittà, which is the distributor for Italy, the film sees the presence as supporting actors of Pippo Delbono and Chiara Caselli.

L’Agnello ha vinto il Premio come Miglior Film al Festival Annecy Cinéma Italien 2020, oltre al Premio della Giuria Giovani e al Premio del Pubblico, e il Premio Suso Cecchi D’Amico, destinato ogni anno alla Miglior Sceneggiatura Italiana con protagonista al femminile; è stato premiato ad Alice nella città – selezione ufficiale 2019 (Menzione d’onore a Nora Stassi come Miglior Talento Emergente), ed selezionato ai festival Moskow IFF, Prague IFF, Istambul IFF, Cinemed Montpellier, CPH Buster, Cinemagic UK, Denver IFF, Lucas International Children’s Film Festival (…e non è finita qui!).
